Tuesday 30 December 2008

Well Christmas has come and gone again....so quickly. We had a very nice Christmas just the 4 of us and of course the dogs. We played Trivial Pursuit all day long and boy have I realised what a dunce I really am!!

Tomorrow is New Years Eve and Roger and I plan to just stay home and relax. Jayme is in Edinburgh, she left on Monday night and telephoned tonight. She's having a great time. They are staying in a hostel with shared bathrooms accommodations. That was a bit of a shock for her. Hopefully she has a good time tomorrow night.

Jess is going out with a few friends tomorrow night in Haywards Heath.

There's only a couple weeks to go before Jess moves to Edmonton. I must say it is starting to hit me now that my baby is very soon leaving the nest. It's going to be so quiet here...but I won't think about it until the time comes!

Dad's 70th

This is a layout of Dad's 70th Birthday that I surprised him at last week. A lot of fun was had by all!

Mad Hatters

This is a layout of my daughter and stepdaughter goofing around as they normally do. I experimented using wire around the edges for something different.

Grandparents

Wow it seems like forever since I've done anything on this blog. This is a layout of my grandparents. They were the best grandparents a girl could ever ask for!

Let it Snow

Jess and I had a lot of fun last spring when it snowed. I've been here for 11 years now and have never seen this much snow in one day! He melted the next day!

Village lost in time

When we returned from Paris last year we drove back through some country roads and lo and behold we drove into this village. It was like stepping back in time. So quaint and so peaceful. Sometimes it is worthwhile getting off the beaten path!

Oh it's been a busy week. Had a conference on Thursday and Friday so I didn't get much else done. But this weekend I've been busy scrapping away.

I did this LO as the October Week 2 Challenge. I'm still undecided whether I really like it but I'm sure it will grow on me.

Paris in Autumn!

I did this LO today of Dad and Diane in Paris when they came to visit in October 2007. I love these pictures and I'm very happy with the way this turned out, especially the background paper!

Mom

I did this LO as a challenge, and I'm really glad I did. It took sometime for me to do but I'm pleased with the results.
The journaling says:
"I miss your smile and your laughter and all those great recipe tips you'd give me. I miss talking to you on the telephone and I really miss those times we went shopping together buying the dumbest things and getting so much enjoyment out of it.
I miss hugging you and I miss getting frustrated because you just didn't 'get it' when I tried to teach you something on the computer.
Basically Mom, I just miss you!"

Sunday 5 October 2008

These are pictures of Roger and I when we went to Morocco and Lisbon in April. It looks much better in real life than it looks here. I think I have to redo the letters at the bottom as there appears to be glue on them. What a pain!

I've had a busy weekend scrapping and am really enjoying it. This is a LO of our new addition. It is not quite complete as I am waiting to add her birthdate when I find out what it is tomorrow.

Belle of the Ball

We have a new addition to our household and her name is Belle. She's a King Charles Spaniel only 13 weeks old and she is absolutely adorable. A lap dog she surely is. Shadow really doesn't know what to make of her but so far the fur hasn't been flying so fingers crossed they'll become the best of buddies.

Is it Friday yet?

It's been a long week already and it's only Tuesday! I had hoped to do some scrapping this evening but I'm just too tired, so spent the time buying some supplies online. I can't wait till everything comes in, then I'd better get scrapping!

Looks like we might have someone to help fix the car....fingers crossed because now Roger has to use the car for work and I don't want to be walking everywhere!

Monday 29 September 2008

Saturday night Jess, Roger and I went to the procession and fireworks display. It was a great night and the fireworks were spectacular. Roger was snapping away and fortunately got some really good shots of the fireworks. I've done a LO and will post it in the next couple of days. Back to work today after having a nice 2 weeks off, oh well all good things...

Saturday 27 September 2008

I'm really pleased with how this LO turned out. I used one of scrapdolly's tutorials and it helped me to no end! I can't wait to start on another tutorial!
I had fun doing this layout. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to improve these layouts please let me know, I would really appreciate it. That's the only way to improve!

I bought brads for the first time and had to have a play, I love the look of them.

My First Album

This is my album cover. The picture does not really do it justice because of the shiny paper on the background which is very difficult to photograph. I love this picture of Jess, my youngest, taken in British Columbia.

The beginning...

Welcome to my first blog. I have no idea why I've started this or where it is headed but here it goes.

I've been on holidays for two weeks and after having purchased an absolutely dud car for my daughter a week ago Friday, I decided I needed a pick me up so started scrapbooking. I'd dabbled in it a few years ago but then life got in the way and I quickly dropped it.

This time around I'm thoroughly enjoying it. So much so that I've spent a fortune on papers and various paraphernalia, even spent an entire day creating a space for it all in the dining room. I'm pleased with my first efforts but very envious of most of the layouts I see from others. I'll get there...baby steps...yup...baby steps!
